ZACHARY STUDENT MEDIA
ZSM is the primary media group of Zachary High School. ZSM comprises four teams: Online Newspaper, Social Media and Marketing, WZHS-TV, and Yearbook.
Each publication is student-run. To be a member, students must enroll in one of our CTE Communications classes led by student editors and advised by Troy McClinton and Taylor Lee. To apply for 2024-2025, check back in February 2024.
We will begin accepting applications for students who would like to join the staff for the next school year. in February 2024. Zachary Student Media are application-based classes meaning we do in class work, but you must be available to cover events outside of school.

If an incoming freshman or new student has a strong background in one of the above areas, we will allow them to apply.
However, if students feel they need a little extra work, they can enroll in Journalism I or Photography I.
2024 YEARBOOK & AD PREORDER
Yearbooks for the current school year (2023-2024) are now available for pre-order. Please follow this link. If prompted, our school order code is 2387. Ordering during the fall semester ensures the cheapest price. Save your emailed receipt from Herff Jones. The books will arrive in Fall 2024.

2022 – 2023 YEARBOOK DISTRIBUTION & PURCHASING
As of March 27, all books have been delivered to students who did not stop by the Yearbook room to pick up.
These books are PICK-UP ONLY. NO SHIPPING.
Family and Close friends can pick up and sign for your copy if you are unable to.
2023 Graduates: Pick Up is in the Main Office.
Current Students: Pick Up is in Mrs. McClinton’s room A112.
Didn’t order a 2022 – 2023 copy? A School Cash link will be available once we have distributed the books. We will email you when your order is ready for pickup.

HOW DO I GET IN THE YEARBOOK?
The Portrait Section: This is each student’s headshot. Students will not appear in this section if they choose not to take pictures or if they are absent on the dates available.
2023-2024 Portrait Dates:

Retake Date: January 24 -25, 2024 (Inside the Library)
Freshmen through Juniors: November 30, 2023
Retake Date: January 25, 2024 (Common’s Area)
WE WILL NOT ACCEPT PORTRAITS FROM ANY OTHER STUDIO. IF YOU MISS ANY OF THE DATES ABOVE, YOU WILL NOT BE PICTURED IN THE BOOK.
